Sazerac Rye

Haven't had too many ryes, but was curious to learn more about the style. What better way than a bottle of Saz. The aroma was interesting with its cherry and vanilla character. Herbal essence as well. My palate extracted mostly vanilla and said herbal qualities with a touch of a waxy like presence. Very much looking forward to making a Manhattan and the popular cocktail this is named after.

One of my favorite Rye whiskeys. Amazing neat, over an ice ball or in a mixed cocktail. Also has a great price.
