Smoke Wagon Uncut the Younger

Young and a lot more tame on the smoke from the older Smoke Wagons. Sweet front palette and spicy smoke finish for the rye.

Insanely viscous. Hung on the glass for a minute before leaving a leg. Spring time honey in color. Nose is spiced fruit cake, orange peel, green apple, a hint of wintergreen. Lots going on there. Hot on the palate almost immediately, and builds with the proof and the cinnamon magnifying the heat. This is nearly an analgesic. Burnt caramel and a dry spicy woodiness in the back end. Leaves thoughts of golden raisins, too. Its got plenty of complexity, but its youth is obvious. Lacks subtlety and nuance. Makes an outstanding old fashioned.

Could benefit with additional aging but fairly smooth given the proof. Spicy base with medium finish.

A bit of spiciness for sure. Runs out as you go through the glass. Almost a bit of wheated note of sweetness over the top. A little bit of petrol on the finish.
