It delivers on the promise of being "ultra woodsy", and "'what John Muir would have in his flask'". This is a uniquely Californian gin that demands to be sipped to be enjoyed. I'm guessing it might not be very versatile as a cocktail ingredient, so might not be the best choice as the only gin in your home bar. I get a lot of pine and sage.
Less juniper, but not to far off a London Dry. The category of "New Gin" fits it just fine.
