A very pleasant gin, overall. Nose is quite caustic (think paint thinner), which coming right out of the can did not inspire confidence 😂 First taste is delicate and smooth, and then a nice bitterness (dark juniper notes and nearly burnt lime peel come to mind) follows. Finish and after taste are quite mild, and dont linger. In a G&T the darkness of this gin opens a bit, but bitterness is still retained. In a negroni it melds fantastically with the Campari. If you’re a fan of darker, bitter gins then this is a good one.

Wow. On the nose: huge cucumber, then citrus, spice (cilantro? Peppercorn?), and of course, juniper. On the palette: smooooth, with complexity. First taste is water-y, then spice, juniper and cucumber, a bit of bitterness, and a very long, citrus-y finish. Opens up in a gin and tonic but doesnt lose the cucumber. A really fantastic Spring gin.

Wow, really nice gin to sip neat. As the name and botanicals imply, this gin hits your palette with tastes of the sea: cedar and salt and peppercorn and lime. Nose has some heat, but not astringency, and definitely lots of citrus. After taste is quite long, with lots of salt and juniper and some bitterness, but not unpleasantly so. Really enjoyable, but definitely would never mix this.

St. George Dry Rye Gin
Modern Gin — California, USA
Reviewed July 12, 2022 (edited October 22, 2022)If you enjoy rye, this has lots of it. If you enjoy gin and not rye (as is my case), I’d say to steer clear. Very good quality, but just not to my taste at all. -
This is a very complex gin, as is fitting for a gin with so many botanicals (and its name). Ultimately, after a few sips neat the botanicals accumulate into a spicy, turnip, celery, root vegetable note for me, which is very pleasant. Takes a few sips, though, before the mass of botanicals becomes clear. In G+T or TC or a Summer or Spring cocktail in general, this gin sings, as the different botanicals diffuse and latch on to flavors in the overall drink. I perceive it as a lighter and more focused gin as compared to Drumshanbo (my favorite gin).

What a unique gin! Very strong olive and sea flavor, along with some spice on the finish. Nose is strongly olive to me, with a number of other ingredients hiding behind it. This gin would pair fantastically with seafood or a savory charcuterie, but less so with other meals. Because of the specificness of this gin, I respect it for its role but wouldn’t purchase again or sip neat without a meal pairing.

Good tasting gin, definitely strong notes of cedar on the nose and also on the palate, with juniper strongly in the mix as well. Not a whole lot else, so kind of one note, but has the flexibility cedar offers: cinnamon-y for the winter or interpreted as fresh as a forest for summer time (when I drank this). Really quite passable.
