My favorite Macallan..afraid if it wasn't for the toasted american oak cask I wouldn't like it..not much into straight European oak cask whiskys..i like bourbon cask..love the vanillin from the white oak that European oak doesn't give off..not in favor of straight sherry cask that macallan often favors..but complex..vanilla, honey, chocolate, butterscotch, berry, fig, malt, brown sugar, pear, apple, citrus, plum, grape and other hard to pin down notes..good job for macallan on this one although still not a fan for price...
