Nose: that sweet weller smell
Mouth: smooth than rye spice, then weller sweetness, then full body rye mash ending quickly
Full body.
Finish: quick. hints of the baby saz
Overall it’s excellent but I wanted a little more.
It's clear a lot of the nose has blown off in the sample vial, but it's still far superior to reg Saz. Really satisfying vanilla oaky extract thing on the nose, cake mix kinda. Serious amount of mouthfeel, honestly quite viscous. Cake batter!
I was cutting white oak all day....12 degrees in the shade .... take a fresh cut log to your face and there’s no difference with the scent. However, the flavor is tough to swallow.
Revisiting a week later. First impression above was a neck a pour. Now that it’s breathed there’s a noticeable medicinal / olive flavor. Rich feel but just an awful flavor to get around.
Amazing. Oily and traditional rye spice. Great floral nose. So much depth and pepper finish. Not as much floral with the taste. Amazing. On par with willet rye as my top ryes.
