Nose: cinnamon and spice and alcohol. Smells strong. Palate: alcohol forward but rich and spicy. A bit better with a touch of water. $33.00 at Applejacks. (They didn't have the 14 aged in Port.) Don’t buy again. BORING!
solid 3.5 for me. price was good, around $30 on sale in Idaho liquor store. Honey and something like butterscotch candy on the nose, very oaky on the palate with a lot of spice. quite a bit of burn going down, finish has some of the honey sweetness, more oak and something like a mild tobacco or worn leather element. overall interesting and drinkable.
There are hints of great flavours here. honey in the nose, apricots in the palate, and lots of wood in the finish. Unfortunately they do not come together well. Some medicinal over tones, and something I can't place keep this from being great. There are better offerings out there.
