Very well done! Quickly becoming my favorite Irish brand, this showing has a deceptively sweet nose, owing to the Cab aging no doubt. We’re quickly swept into the classic Irish twang surrounded by a veil of oat and prune (old timer’s breakfast) before a medium body end that burns just right. Slainte!

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 11, 2022 (edited September 20, 2022)This is shit. Worst Scotch I’ve had. Compares unfavorably to GlenLovet Rum experiments. Two thumbs down. -
Glenfarclas 17 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 31, 2021 (edited April 13, 2022)As a major Glenfarclas fan, was only slightly disappointed. Smooth to a fault and strong fruit and spice, I would appreciate a little more hard oak notes. But overall, very good and long finish is a highlight in classic Farclas style. -
Upon second tasting (and much maturing of the palette inbetween) I spit upon my former self. This 10 year old is packed with far more complexity (barley floral and pear smoke) than it has any right to. Of course there is the trademark white pepper blast, but I never saw the softer side. More fool me.
