Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2019 (edited March 29, 2020)Very surprising! What Balvenie Double Wood wishes it could be. Consistent sweet flavor, sufficiently rich (for dryer, see Dalwhinnie), and a well integrated burn. Bravo! -
Cragganmore Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 14, 2019 (edited March 29, 2020)Once again Cragganmore: bravo! Lucky enough to try this: the distiller’s edition adds maturity to the fruit and darkens the floratic flavors overall. Like the snake in the Garden of Eden, opens my eyes to the darkness I didn’t realize I wanted, nay needed! -
Yellow Spot 12 Year Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed August 22, 2019 (edited October 28, 2019)The old familiar Irish twang coupled with a floral bouquet. Not quite the price darling, but quite cool nonetheless. -
Highland Park 12 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed August 5, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)Weird mix of weaker peat smoke and sweeter fruit, as if dried. If you prefer darker flavor go here, otherwise go Oban.
