Powers Three Swallow Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed March 29, 2020 (edited May 17, 2020)I must admit, the best Irish whiskey I’ve had. The usual Irish twang (unmalted) is pleasantly encompassed by bourbon vanilla and, even stronger, sherry fruit. Well done! -
Clynelish 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 20, 2019 (edited September 20, 2021)The bee’s knees. Waxy unique mouthfeel complementing honey notes. Also the bee sting. One of a kind. -
Talisker 10 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed November 23, 2019 (edited November 27, 2019)Burns like salt water. As maritime as they come. Bracing salt and peat along with a siren call of marmalade in the background. -
Macallan 12 Year Triple Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 9, 2019 (edited July 31, 2020)Exceedingly mild. Strong oak, middling citrus, and weak vanilla. Just like the box said. I prefer more consistent or more complex with my mild Scotches. The closest Scotch has ever come to a dreamsicle, if that’s your thing. -
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 31, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)Same interesting mouthfeel as Lasanta. However, dryer fruit flavor and less sweet. Comes down to individual preference between this and the above mentioned other Glenmor. -
Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 29, 2019 (edited March 29, 2020)Take Glenmorangie 10. Add fruit. Add breadth. Add smoothness. Viola! Also a curious texture that sticks to the mouth.
