Balvenie Single Barrel 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited February 10, 2021)Flavor is one note of citrus. Too acidic for my taste almost stringent. Opens up with water enough to be good but not interesting enough to be great. Doesn’t pair with smoke particularly well better with food or a pallet cleanser. -
Dalmore 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 13, 2020 (edited October 5, 2020)Very smooth, almost buttery. Delicate flavor sweeter notes of honey and oak and nuttier, no peat or smoke. Versatile great with a cigar, pipe, or food but doesn’t need anything. Drank with ice and really enjoyed. Personal top three for price range. -

Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed October 3, 2019 (edited February 9, 2020)Strong alcohol flavor, needs ice or water. Very floral and smooth for the kick, almost rum like. Did not pair well with a cigar but decent drink would work in deserts.
