Bright golden color. Lots of floral and fruity notes in the aroma. The taste begins with a slightly sweet oaky flavors. Some hints of pepper in the background. The finish brings slightly bitter notes, but not overwhelming. For a 46% alcohol this Scotch isn’t overly alcohol forward. A touch of water reveal some melon and really brings out the smoke. Not an outstanding scotch, but quite drinkable. I could see it growing on me more with time.

Light golden color like weak apple juice. Aroma is alcohol forward but hints of apple and vanilla in the background. A bit hard to piece together, but whatever it is it’s blah. Very alcohol forward with pepper and strong bitter taste. The finish is mainly alcohol again. Alcohol dulls it which is good, but still just not my cup of tea.

Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 20, 2018Color reminds me a lot of apple juice. Aroma is fruity with a hint of wine and caramel in the background. Taste is a bit alcohol forward, but a bit hard to separate out individual notes until the Sherry peaks through. Finish is nicely balanced and really is the strongest part of this Scotch. A touch of water reveals some fruit and caramel, but also adds a touch of bitterness on the finish. -
Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 18, 2018 (edited December 19, 2018)Medium yellow color. The rum clearly comes through in the aroma. Also some hints of vanilla and citrus. Taste is a bit oaky with some apple and pepper. A nice smooth finish where the smoke comes through a bit. Definitely a Scotch but a really interesting fusion with the rum. The touch of water really doesn’t bring out much, I actually preferred it neat. -
Oaky golden color. Aron fruit and vanilla, very nice. Taste starts fruity and then adds some smoke and oak. There are hints of pepper in the background. Finish is satisfying and smooth. Leaves a bit of peat on the back of the tongue but not overwhelmingly so. A touch of water lets you truly enjoy an almost sweet and savory experience. Nice complexity and a delicious Scotch.

Deep golden color, like a good Scotch should. Aroma is very floral like walking through a garden in full bloom. Taste has nice complementing sweet and bitter notes. Maybe touch of honey that gives way to some peat. Finish brings nothing new to the party, but the pleasant taste lingers. Water really brings the honey forward as well as some smoke in the peat.

Fairly light golden color. Some vanilla notes in the aroma, but partially blocked by the alcohol. Starts with some vanilla notes, but then some strong bitter notes come in heavy. The finish starts strongly bitter but mellows To a nice balance. A little water enhances the sweetness and brings out some pepper and cinnamon notes. Along both a slight mellowing of the bitter notes, it is clearly the way to go.

Light yellow color. Slight floral notes with some hints of spice in the background. Sweetness quickly fade to some fruity taste. Some vanilla notes hiding in the background. Peaty and smoky notes in the finish. This Scotch is alcohol forward. A touch of water helps significantly with this allowing you to enjoy the flavors a bit more.
