This is not a bad bottle at all. I think plenty of people would appreciate the flavor profile, but it isn't for me personally. Maple syrup, pecan, and spice on the nose It's a dark flavor profile. Dark caramel. Oak. Apple. More of that pecan note and heavy spice. It's not what Im looking for in a pour. To me, there's something missing. But I appreciate it nonetheless. It finishes on coffee bean. More spice. Burnt oak. Lingers for some time and coats the mouth well, which I would haven't guessed. As it looked on the thinner side in my glass. It's a bit too nutty for my liking. It's a prevalent flavor in the bottle. If it sounds like something you might like, then I'd suggest it... It's 43$, and for the proof you're getting, it isn't a bad deal.

Driftless Glen Single Barrel Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Wisconsin, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2023 (edited December 20, 2023)Really nice nose on this. Circus peanuts. Caramel. Vanilla. Some baking spice. The palate has some kind of vegetable taste to it. Something green, but isn't off putting by any means. There's more of the vanilla and caramel. It finishes with peanut, fudge, and spice. A well above average pour which doesn't quite make it as something I'd drink neat, but will do well with cocktails. -
Incredibly thin with not much flavor. Pine, citrus, and leather on the nose. The taste is flat. That pine returns with aome of the citrus gotten from the nose. Barely any finish. Isn't difficult to drink. There's not really any downside but very few positives. Might be a fine pour for someone new to bourbon.

Baker's Single Barrel Bourbon 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 12, 2023 (edited December 20, 2023)Warehouse CL-X proof 107 Age of 8 YRS 10 MOS I took a break from bourbon. Bought this bottle on a whim and figured I'd crack it open. What's inside is pretty different from the usual fare I drink. Dull chocolate and caramel on the nose. Some licorice. Spice. Oak. Nuttiness with a little bit of sweetness. Vanilla. The palate brings back that caramel covered chocolate. Pecan. Some oak. Spice begins to come through near the finish in a surprising amount at first. Tastes a bit hotter than expected. But It calms as you drink it and become accustomed, and that spice becomes a high point. Finishes off with previously mentioned spice, oak, and bitter chocolate. Overall, it's a pleasant bottle that offers something a bit different. It's not overally complex but is still good for what it is. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C923
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 28, 2023 (edited December 20, 2023)Strong flavors and more depth than the last few EC BPs. The usual flavors are there youd expect from the line, with additional dark fruit notes. Bitter chocolate. Berries. Barrel char. Pepper. Walnut. Noticing a bit of a rum quality as well. Spice throughout. You feel the proof, no question. But its incredibly flavorful. With time, this will open up and will develop incredibly. -
This one is a Total Wine exclusive. Batch 225 68% corn 27% rye 5% barley malt Nose has notes similar to a cinnamon roll. Brown sugar as well as caramel. Dark caramel on the palate along with a good amount of spice. Well balanced. Theres a fine amount of oak as well, making itself very noticable. Theres some more brown sugar creeping in. It finishes on burnt oak, making me think of a late night campfire. The spice lingers throughout the finishes and stays on the tongue for some time. A good bottle for a cold night.

Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished with Toasted Oak Staves
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2023 (edited December 13, 2023)Im getting red apple, vanilla and gingerbread on the nose. The palate isnt as sweet, its actually quite oak heavy. That cookie note continues but blends in with the oak, which conflict with each other some. Theres slight vanilla on the palate but it stays in the background. Finishes with some nuttiness, oak and some nice spice. The nose is pretty great, but the palate left much to be desired for me. Its an above average pour that has its place. Darker notes and oak take over. Nutty. Oaky. I think the profile might be really enjoyable for some. I just wanted a bit more. -
Familia Camarena Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed October 19, 2023 (edited December 12, 2023)Ratings on the one run the gamut. But I found it to be pretty average. Cant find many things to be critical about while nothing really stands out. Vanilla on the nose and palate. Its very sweet. Some pine. Custard. No oak is noticable but mild Slight caramel and finishes on vanilla and some pecan. Theres no burn, and its easy to drink. Worth it for the price -
The nose is actually pretty full on this. Some malt, vanilla, caramel, pear and burnt toast. That might be the most surprising part and clearly what stands out to me. The palate is straight to the point. Nothing flashy here. Its light with caramel and oak. In an old fashioned I noticed grass, probably from the ice watering it down. For a budget bottle its not my favorite. But it still works for what it is.
