Very fruit forward nose with some nice spice. On the palate, red or green apple. Banana. Continued spice and finishes a bit out of left field. Much darker flavors come through. Possibly dark chocolate? Some blueberry. I can see a bit of the dill mentioned on earlier reviews, but not much. Good spice throughout. Uniquely flavored. Nice dark orange color to it. It checks all the boxes and met and expectations and more. The bottle mentions red and blue fruit which is spot on. Has an interesting finish which adds complexity. A really good bottle here.

Theres great notes on the nose. Fudge. Sweet tarts candy. Maple syrup. Theres spice and oak and it all goes well together. The flavor profile is much more underwhelming. Dark caramel. Maple syrup. Oak. Theres spice and it hits a bit heavier on the finish. Not necessarily in a bad way, but its a bit one dimensional on the dark caramel, oak and spice. This isnt a bad whiskey. Nice bottle but its over-priced for what youre getting.

The nose is sweet. Apple. Sugar. Vanilla. The palate contains heavier caramel notes and dark caramel. It starts with that fruit and vanilla before going into that caramel and the arrival of that spice note. Sort of a medium mouthfeel. The flavor notes are what you would expect going into a standard bourbon. It does everything right. The increased rye in the mashbill gives it a nice edge of spice, specifically on the finish.

Dragon's Milk Origin Honey Barrel
Bourbon — Michigan, USA
Reviewed August 27, 2023 (edited August 28, 2023)This should be an annual release. It has that usual unique Dragons Milk flavor, and its cranked to 11. It finishes with the honey sweetness and spice. Some citrus. Lingers with a dark maltiness. Really great mouthfeel. It went beyond my expectations. -
Maltiness, salt, lime, citrus, caramel and a decent amount of burn. Tastes a bit over proof. For me it isnt a problem, theres nice spice and pepper notes there. Admittedly, Im new to the tequila. Im still finding my footing with the flavors and the appreciation for the spirit. So far I've enjoyed what i have had and this is no exception. The nose is a bit more appealing than whats on the palate. Still, theres some good flavors there.

Really great change of pace from what I've had lately. Strong candy apple and caramel on the nose. Slight pine. Some herbal characteristics. Those notes come through at the beginning on the palate before going into spice, oak, and leather. The leathercontinues with spice. Finishes a bit dry. Some great flavors come through with this bottle. It's a bit on the darker side and even more so on the spicy. A worthwhile bottle for the 40$ price I paid.

Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 17, 2023 (edited August 19, 2023)Barrel # 019 Amazing nose. Chocolate. Vanilla. Cherry. Graham cracker. It was a great beginning, but the palate is just too heavy handed. Starts with those Chocolate malt notes, but then goes into a heavy mint that lingers for some time. It overstays its welcome. The finish is interesting. Slightly burnt oak and orange. It stays for some time with a bit of dark chocolate. Its not very well balanced but does have some good flavors going on.
