Cherry and wood (mostly oak but some a hint of cedar) first up on the nose. Vanilla and hazelnut are also present from initial nosing. Super smooth on first sip. No heavy burn or spice. This is good for anyone that doesn’t like lots of burn or spice. Strong notes of char and cherry finish. I like this one and Ice or water is not necessary. Great for an evening sipper.

Amador Double Barrel Bourbon Finished in Napa Valley Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky (Finished and Bottled in California), USA
Reviewed April 16, 2022Apple and floral off the nose. Also hints of caramel on the nose. First sip gives good oak and toasted char flavor. Red wine finish with decent burn throughout. I definitely get a Chardonnay profile as it finishes as well. Full mouth taste and nice long linger. Add a cube of ice and burn almost disappeared. Great bourbon. -
Nothing jumps out on the nose. Maybe a hint of fruit and vanilla. Flash burn on first sip was unexpected. Didn’t last long and was followed up by a bitterness with a sting char taste. Lingered a bit but heat died quickly. Splash of water did soften the burn and made it more palatable. Black pepper and char are prevalent throughout. Not bad but not a top 10 for me.

Soft nose with hints of ethanol at first but mellows out after it sits a few minutes. Floral and citrus on nose. First sip has strong oak and char with slight finish in black pepper. Good light linger and a moderate heat during finish. Add a splash of water and this really draws out the black pepper but diminished quickly. Nice offering and I would recommend to get this one.

Wyoming Whiskey Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Wyoming, USA
Reviewed April 12, 2022 (edited May 24, 2022)Honey, oats, and slight mint of apple on nose. First sip is very welcoming. Smooth with notes of caramel, oats, and finishes with chocolate. This does not need a cube or water. Perfect neat and could be dangerous if used as a sipping whiskey after work.
