Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2014
Bourbon — Bardstown, USA
Reviewed January 21, 2023 (edited March 15, 2023)Vanilla, caramel, and floral notes on the nose. First sip offers spicy clove, oak, char, and a hint of peaty. This has a good smokey finish and long legs. The full mouth feel and smooth smoky finish really compliment each other. Ice pulls more smoke and peaty out. I like this one and recommend it. -
Strong notes of sherry wine on the nose. Sherry wine, tannic note, char, and oak on first sip. A little burn at first but ends quick. Not much in the way of a finish. Ice doesn’t change much. With ice there are still kites of tannic and char. Sherry has faded and finish e is even less that before. Not very complex and strong notes of sherry wine are not speaking to me. Not a favorite.

Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-02
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2022 (edited February 22, 2023)Strong sweet vanilla on the nose with subtle hint of oak. Vanilla and oak are very strong on first sip with hints of char and tannic tendencies. Ice doesn’t change age much, adds to the oak and char. Not very complex but very enjoyable and I would have seconds. -
Broken Barrel Reserve Oak Series Finished with Stout Beer Barrel Staves
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 26, 2022Strong vanilla on the nose with a slight hint of almond. First sip has chocolate (which is a change from the nose) and pine nuts. Ice adds to chocolate and pulls some char into the conversation. Not spicy or strong for a higher proof. I like this one and recommend it if you can find it.
