Macallan Rare Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 26, 2021 (edited August 13, 2021)This is definitely one of my fave Whisky’s! Is it worth the money well no not to me if I was rich maybe. However it is full of sherry notes and emphasized cherry notes you don’t typically get in a sherry cask plus it is smooth and oily. Tasted beside redbreast 12 and Jameson 18 and you can clearly see the difference in smoothness and richness of flavour. I guess on the end at the price range I really liked/ love the Bruichladdoch black arts series better it is more complex and flavourful but this macallan is smoother. Definitely worth trying! My friend julian notes grape leaf cigar kinda humidor notes very complex stuff from beginning to end -
Shelter Point Double Barreled Batch #5 - BlackBerry Wine Cask Finish
Canadian — Campbell River, BC, Canada

John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2020 (edited February 28, 2021)What a surprise! This is a bold John Walker 51% and big flavour. This is not for the faint of heart or entry into whiskey but after enjoying cask strength whiskey this is amazing straight. Big Apple orchard flavour that evolves to this sweet but ashy end note more ash than smoke but in a good way. Really enjoyed this one thought from reviews it would be more sherry like chocolatey but definitely more a crisp apple flavours -
Appleton Estate 21 Year Limited Edition
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed November 14, 2020 (edited July 3, 2021)Did a heads up blind taste with the father in law today Appleton 21 vs eldorado 21 both great in their own way but the 21 year Appleton was thicker more oily richer. Made the el dorado taste thin but eldorado has many notes to it eldorado had less flavours but was richer on the flavours it had. We chose Appleton but the eldorado is $50 less here and more complex tough call -
Appleton Estate 21 Year Limited Edition
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed November 14, 2020 (edited February 27, 2021)First off amazing packaging and a wax seal letter inside from Joy certifying that it is at minimum 21 years! Nose is rich and has a lot of depth matching the thick oily rum inside. Big oak and rich maple syrup flavours a little spice nice long finish with a hint of funk so good definitely a fave rum so far -
