Tastes

Smell of peppercorn and honey. Golden amber color. Thick, coating the glass and resisting legs. Leather, earth, and bitter fruit tastes, followed by chili spice, then a burning finish.

Honeysuckle and ripe apple smell. Golden color, thick, coating the glass and with very slow legs. Tastes of honey and orange rind, then light smoke, and a pleasant hot finish.

Cherry and vanilla on the nose. Light amber color. Thin, with quick long legs. Easy alcohol heat upfront. Vanilla sweetness, then almond or maybe pecan. Harsher rye finish that seems a bit out of place.

Caramel and fruit candy on the nose. Deep amber color, even reddish. Thick, with legs that almost never appear. Mild alcohol hit, brown sugar and banana, then mellow oak, followed by a spicy finish.

Very mild nose of apple and mint. Deep golden amber color. Thick, leaving more ribbons than legs. Hot alcohol on the palate, then a mild taste of something creamy, followed by more mint, and a bitter mild pepper finish. I don't care much for ryes, but this is decent.

Smells of pine and paint thinner. Golden color, coating the glass, with very slow legs. Hot on the palate, with tastes of wood and leather hiding somewhere behind the harshness. A splash of water doesn't do it any favors, just bringing out earthy mid-tones that don't excite me. I keep wanting to like ryes, but I guess I'm just not there yet.

Smells of amaretto and vanilla immediately. Very light color with thin legs. Taste is very sweet, and we can't help but think of Jiffy blueberry muffins or blueberry Ego waffles. It's ... interesting? A bit of water just amps that blueberry oddness.

Earthy. Light, almost non-existent burn. Heavy tannins. Just flat overall.

Woody. Creamy. No peat. Sweetness on the nose. Tannins on the finish.
