Nose: rye spice and slight hint of fresh mint, raw honey, caramel apple, and light cereal undertones. Palate: Caramel apples punches through first in the mouth then fades to rye spice. The barrel influence comes through as a slight vanilla on the finish. Finish: long, thick and chewy. It's a decent rye, but I think needs a little more age. Promising stuff from Pinhook and Castle & Key.

Just ok for me. A light bodied creamy single grain whisky. Would be great to introduce people to whisky. I could enjoy this in the summer or maybe in a highball but doesn’t have enough depth for me to drink meat.

Great peated Islay single malt. Definitely a benchmark just like Lagavulin 16. Surprisingly refined for a 10 year old spirit. Wonderful notes of caramel come through the smoke on the nose!

Absolutely amazing NAS single malt. Definitely a great choice of scotch if you are a bourbon drinker. I’ve given this to plenty of people who don’t like single malt and they love this!

Decent blend, had been awhile since I’d had it. A lot sweeter than I remember it being. Very refreshing with soda or high quality ginger ale.

What can I say, love everything from Ardbeg. This is so creamy but leafy at the same time. Excellent!

Good, smooth, easy drinking whiskey. Lots of apple pie notes and vanilla. I think any whiskey drinker could appreciate a pour of this. However it’s forgettable and I don’t often find myself reaching for the bottle.

I’m a huge Redbreast fan so I’m biased here but I feel there are no finer single pot still Irish Whiskies than those made by Redbreast. The 15 is more complex than the 12, so maybe a whiskey you want to sit down and take your time with.

Probably the finest peated single malt I have ever tasted. There is doubt the peat is there but it is so full of cream, caramel and light dried fruits. Super smooth for a 5 Year Cask Strength whisky.
