The Nose kicks off with a blast of butter, honey, and wheat toast. The honey and butter bleeds into the initial Palate, quickly replacing the wheat toast profile with a Rye Bread profile. The Palate is the best part of this drink, with a perfect blend mimicking a hot buttery piece of toast in the morning drizzled in honey that is not artificial but completely natural in flavoring. Following this delightful Palate, the Finish is strong on cinammon and Rye but with the short length of it, this minty conclusion doesn’t overstay its welcome. Overall a solid sweet and spicy “flavored” whiskey that is a solid natural break away from the syrupy and artificial flavoring you get from most mass market flavored whiskeys.

New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 22, 2025Smooth aroma of Spiced Banana on the Nose, with the Palate maintaining the trend. Cinammon Sugar coated Bananas at the front end of the Palate and Smoky Leather Mint at the back end of the Palate. The glass rounds out nicely with a short kick of spices and mint, not too long to overstay its welcome. -

Greenbar Distillery Slow Hand Six Woods Whiskey
Single Malt — Los Angeles, CA, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2025 (edited February 9, 2025)Nose is the most intricate part of the whiskey with obvious aromas such as sweet maple and vanilla to start off the glass. This would lend the whiskey to be comparable to a lot of whiskeys on the market, if it wasn’t for the third aroma being recognized but not able to be identified by multiple parties along for the ride on this tasting journey. The third aroma (maybe play-doh?), still has yet to be identified and labeled but all have agreed they recognize the smell from somewhere in their life. The palate tastes of cinnamon raisin bread that melds together amazingly with the medium finish that also mimics the palate. Overall the intrigue of the third “unknown” aroma (again, maybe play-doh?) on the nose and the finish of the hot buttery raisin bread, make this a great gateway and amazing “Daily Driver” to the Whiskey drinker. -
Nose begins with a strong smell reminiscent of a nice buttery piece of wheat toast. This is a complete one-eighty from the Palate, which transitions into sweet raisins or plum jam at the front end. The finish is short in length and flips back to the nose with toasted wheat and peat, with a short baking spice burn that lasts only 4-5 seconds. Overall a nice circular whiskey with the nose and finish matching each other and the palate bridging the gap well.

Yellowstone Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 12, 2025 (edited January 14, 2025)The Nose brings wiffs of Sweet Coconut Vanilla, with a hint of leather. Upon the first sip, the coconut transcends over the vanilla but yet the sweetness remains with a hint of burnt caramel transitioning to the finish. Upon the initial burnt caramel beginning finish, a short burst of spicy mint rounds out the glass and gives the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.40.99 USD per BottleSave Mart -
Left Turn Distilling San Juan Single Malt Whiskey
American Single Malt — Albuquerque, NM, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2025 (edited January 20, 2025)The Nose begins with an aroma reminiscent of cereal topped with dried cranberries. This melds into the Palate which cascades into sweet milk chocolate at the beginning and swims back into the breaded cranberry notes from the nose. The Palate is delightfully wild and meshes well into the short finish with a warm sweet hawaiian roll lingering on the tongue. This is a weird, yet satisfying malt that blends well between the Nose, Palate, and Finish.48.0 USD per Bottle
