The Nose offers waves of plump fruit and jam, with red wine notes shining through as well. The Palate immediately hits with sweet bourbon notes of toffee and molasses. This transitions at the tail end into the flavors prevalent in the Finish. The Finish is lengthy and further brings forward leather, mint, and tanins that were highlighted at the tail end of the Palate. The best part of this glass, is the Palate and how it overall transitions from Nose to initial Palate (Sweet to Sweet front) and tail Palate with the Finish (Bitter end to Bitter). The overall Nose and Finish however doea not offer much complexity from average Bourbons.

Initial tasting was not as bad as most reviews come across, however after multiple tastes this whiskey did not age well at all. Initial nose was very astringent and resembled high alcohol content with minimal age. The 24 hour age bleeds into a quick pour, however with a slower pour the flavors seem to pick up a notch. On small sips, you can taste the leather and smoke but with anything more than a lipfull there is clear pure rubbing alcohol to this bottle. This is additionally a clear representation of the finish, which also requires small sips to be good as well. Anything else and this bottle will lack flavor and profile, stick with small tasting sips all the way.

Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Wheated Bourbon (2024 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 22, 2025The Nose explodes with buttery cinammon raisin bread. This aroma lasts for multiple dives into the Nose and does not dissipate. The Palate sedes heavy baking spices, cinammon, an honey with small hints of strawberries and other red fruits. The Finish is short and burns with mint and a hint of sugared cinnamon on the back end. This is an amazing glass, well worth the price and not just the name. -
Heavy notes of cinnamon graham cracker on the nose. The palate brings toasted coconut, with a hint of grass on the back end. Upon continual tastes, the barley and coffee notes slip through while highlighting the Stout Beer notes coming from the barrel this was finished in. As we gravitate into the finish, the beer and barley notes slowly dissipate to close this glass on a balanced and consistent end. This glass differentiates itself using the Stout Beer the whiskey is finished with. Overall however, it does not set itself apart from the better experimental whiskeys I’ve had. Just above average, but not something I’ll itch for on the day to day basis.

Holladay 6 Year Soft Red Wheat Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Missouri, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2025Maple Donut punches forward on the initial nose, consistently exploding with sweetness all the way through and periodically pushing cinnamon and honey to the forefront. Upon first palate, sugared plums and berries pull the sweetness out of the nose. This transitions into the finish, which brings forward candied nuts and burnt leather. This whiskey, brings a lot of familiar notes with the sweetness never being too overbearing. The complexity of the whiskey brings similarities to a higher shelf whiskey, at a affordable price point. A super big fan, gaining an incentive to further dive into wheated whiskeys to see where they land. As of right now, this is my favorite wheated whiskey thus far. While not widely available, I’m inspired to buy multiple bottles next time seen on the market so as to build a supply for general night sipping straight/iced. Solid whiskey, solid buy!55.99 USD per BottleBevMo! -
The nose emanates Oh’s Cereal, with strong vibes or honey, grain, and toasted coconut at the front end. A hint of cinnamon and raisin bread bring up the back end. Upon the palate, the cinnamon/cereal meld together while interjecting raisin and honey to conclude into the finish. The finish is smooth, bringing Pear, Apple Pie, and Sugared Cream of Wheat to the roof of your mouth. This is a very balanced and consistent whiskey, that you’ll never go wrong with. The consistency and price, justifies an addition to any connoisseur’s collection. As a good introduction to the world of whiskey or recommendation as a daily driver, you can’t go wrong with this whiskey!53.99 USD per BottleSave Mart

The Nose explodes with dried leather seats and then fades into a deep honey at the tail end. As the Nose concludes and invites the palate, a faint hint of grape/dried fruit sneaks up as the glass is pulled away for the first sip and following tastes. Multiple smells, invite the honey and grape to a more forward forefront while the leather disappears. The Palate brings the sweet grape wine at the front, melded with the honey flavors most bourbon drinkers are familiar with all way until Finish. Upon conclusion, an explosion of spearmint comes forward. This spicy/minty conclusion lasts short but is a fitting finish to this seemingly basic bottle. The most interesting piece of this glass would be the grape forward Nose and Palate, before the honey replaces it.

Nose is balanced with strong honey aromas that trail off into burnt leather at the tail. Upon initial sip, the honey is brought back and sits on the Palate for the entirety of the taste with orange peel springing up and a nutty/grassy conclusion to the palate. This bleeds into the Finish, with a minty/leathery burn that finishes into a honey sweet profile to conclude this average glass.
