Macallan Rare Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 18, 2019 (edited December 10, 2019)Tasted 10/17/19 Apparently the barrels were aged between 12-24 years and I was very surprised to hear that the majority of the casks were ex sherry. To my chagrin this pour is not over sherried at all! By far the best Macallan I've tasted. -

Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 4, 2019 (edited October 20, 2019)Tasted 9/3/19 I found this to taste better than the double oak 12 year. I would compare Macallan to Glenmorangie; I'm not a huge fan of the base flavor, but when you give it a finishing barrel it softens things up around the edges. This particular one is aged 12 years solely in sherry oak casks. It's got a really nice silky mouthfeel and the sherry places nicely with the malted flavors.7.0 USD per Pour -
WhistlePig 6 Year PiggyBack Rye
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed August 18, 2019 (edited January 12, 2020)Tasted 8/17/19 I know they released to be used in cocktails, but this is a really great rye to sip on as well! It’s a little sweeter than their 10 year and for the msrp this is a must have for any rye whiskey fan. -
Tasted 8/17/18 For being tripled paled I was very surprised by how little influence the different oaks had on the flavor profile. The best part of the pour was the nose and everything after that makes it a slightly above average Canada whisky. I’m not a huge Canadian whisky fan to begin with and this one did not change my mind! Until learning more about this whisky, I didn’t know they aged it in ex wine barrels so that tells you that the wine cask finish was not very overpowering. If you like Canadian whisky then you will probably like it.
