Hotel Tango Rye, Ready to Drink
Rye — Indiana , USA
Reviewed October 26, 2020 (edited December 16, 2021)Great story and great rye. Well balanced heat thoughout. A great amount of flavor for such a young rye. Caramel and rye early. This turns to a burnt caramel and leather flavor later. Finish is moderate but pleasant with a little bitterness. Would happy to drink alone or in a cocktail. -
I’ll admit that I feel like when people say that a bourbon is a good cocktail bourbon, I feel like it’s a back-handed compliment. I totally understand it now though. Great sweet flavors of caramel and vanilla early and late after the finish. It gets a little harsh and flavor of alcohol is present in the middle. Fun social bourbon with a cool story.

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 20, 2020 (edited September 22, 2020)This was a nice late summer surprise drink. Very sweet and smooth. Not a long finish. Honey vanilla throughout. Would love as a bourbon to share with the wife. -
High West Double Rye
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed September 6, 2020 (edited October 4, 2020)Pretty solid and hot rye. I’m certainly a big rye fan and this is a great value choice. I think alcohol content is perfect for the natural rye heat. Great nose. Taste lots of leather and moderate Oak. Mild finish for such a potent up front flavor. -
This may be redundant, but like everyone is saying, it is very very light. Light up front and light finish. Light vanilla and woody flavor. Light fruit and sweetness. That being said, very easy casual bourbon that I feel I could safely give to someone new to Irish whiskey. Could mix into cocktail that needs a kick without altering flavor much. Probably not one I’ll keep around.
