Great value bourbon. It has a very pleasant winter spice flavor. This smoothly transitions to oak flavor. Vanilla finish with modest warmth.

Very smooth drinking it neat. Nice toast and vanilla nose. Nice oak and sweetness throughout. Very pleasant late warmth along with a leather taste. Very solid bourbon!

This rye is pretty solid. I can taste the rye and almost a wheat undertone. There’s an ashy after taste too. Lovely nose. Warmth this very tame for this rye!

Very nice bourbon. great late heat with lonnnnng finish. It has a pretty sweet nose. Sweet up front and then I get a lot of leather and vanilla later.

Very smooth. Starts soft and follows with a ton of oak. Gentle fruitiness just before a nice long finish. Solid Irish whiskey.

Nose: pretty modest, but a sweet oaky scent is present. Tons of flavor. A lot more oak than what I expected. Nice vanilla and caramel on the back end. Great warmth throughout that extends into the chest. Maintains smoothness however.

Barrel select: spice-28999, 50% abv Nose: it actually smells pretty sweet for a rye. I’ve had the barrel strength of this rye and thought that was pretty smooth. This goes down easy as well. There’s a great lingering chest warmth as well. Lots of sweet caramel and late licorice. The rye is robust but the heat is well managed. Very happy with this purchase.

Barrel no. 15-5928 56.9% This rye is pretty potent through and through. Nose: Oak and rye The heat starts quick and carries throughout. Very nice lingering flavor as well. There is a lot of char, smoke, burnt caramel flavor. I ended up putting a large cube in half way through (which I rarely drink anything with water or on the rocks). This certainly helped open up a bit. Honestly, like it more as a cocktail whiskey.

I’m a rye guy that likes standard woodford during the warmer months. Very excited to finally try this rye. Good heat for such a low rye %. Moderately fruity sweet. Nice long chocolaty and oaky finish.

I’ll preface this with saying that I’m a big whistle pig fan. I’ve had several from unique barrels, but this standard rye is one I always want on my shelf. You can smell the rye warmth. The heat is not overbearing and mostly comes on late. I get clear flavors of s’mores and coffee. Undertones of vanilla and caramel throughout with a wonderful aftertaste!
