Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 14, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)A classic Laphroaig. Tastes Younger than the 10, and the smoke is more cigar ash and Spikey/burning than the camp fire ash of the 10. Solid whiskey but prefer the 10. -
Laphroaig The 1815 Legacy Edition
Single Malt — Scotland
Reviewed December 14, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)The 1815 is heavy, ash, meaty Sulphur. It tastes a lot like the Bal Peat week. Little more medicinal but the ash is right there an the finish is similar. I like it but I like the 10 better and the Lore. -
Laphroaig Triple Wood
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 14, 2019 (edited December 24, 2019)This trades some of the classic Laphroaig medicinal, briney peat for some barrel notes. It’s definitely Laphroaig with plenty of Seagull’s armpit taste, but it’s subdued by more wood. Great whiskey. -
Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 13, 2019 (edited March 10, 2021)So nice and smooth. I love the Portwood 21, but this is my favorite Balvenie. Just amazing soft floral taste with a light spice. -
Glengoyne 9 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 13, 2019Sweet honey on the nose. Taste of lemon citrus. Harsh and alcohol dominated. Long, spice finish. Not for me. -
Highland Park 18 Year Viking Pride
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2019 (edited May 10, 2020)Excellent. Sweet floral nose. Taste of smoke honey and citrus. Long finish. Excellent whisky. -
Laphroaig 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 8, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)One of the best. I am not a trusted reviewer. This whiskey is special to me. One of my first Islays after Lag16. This is brine, smoke and dirt. Some citrus, mainly lemon. Spicey and Iodine. I love this.
