Expert review is spot on … smoke, brine, followed by a brief burst of berries, finishing in a tingling peppery finish somewhere between white and Szechuan peppercorns. Definitely a must have for any Ardbeg fan.

Another year and a new bottle. Still amazing. Aroma is honey and a litle hint of smoke. Initial taste is full of smoke, leather, and umami. Next is black pepper and spice with a nice lingering clove oil on the lips. Definitely my favorite Ardbeg to date.

Third bottle of this one and certainly not the last. Exceptionally complex Islay especially for its price point.

Nose is full of smoke. Burnt sugar and sawdust. Some briny notes in there as well. Taste is pleasant. Thin and slick. Some vanilla followed by brine and smoke. Lots of rich umami and mas pleasant burn. Finish is a short burn followed by salt, seaweed, some spices, and leathery notes. Finishing with a pleasant spicy tingle. More than happy that i added a bottle of to ny collection.

Firat dram is more complex than other Laphroaigs and not quite as overpowering. Second sip is full of the brine, smoke, umami, and spice. Finishes warm and full with a slight floral sweetness.

So happy to come across another bottle. Aroma is full of floral and honey notes. Taste is complex as I remember. Peppery up front followed by brine and smoke. Full of umami. Finish bites into the corner of the lips with clove oil and covers the tongue with honey or butterscotch. An excellent dram for sure.

Smoky and briny just the way that it should be. Cask strength means that a cube of ice allows the flavor change throughout the drink. From smoky and intense to spicy and a little fruity. Very nice drink.

Aroma is rich butterscotch with some medicinal notes. Initial taste is caramel, butter, and something briney that I can’t place. Finish is full of Sherry driven warmth. A really nice dram for the price.

Unexpected. Nose has a lot of sherry before smoke and seaweed dominate. Taste is complex. Briny, salty, oily followed by some heat. Getting a few nice floral and honey notes a few sips in. This one is a lot more complex than the other Ardbegs that I’ve had.
