Rich and herbal. It really is delicious out of the freezer, as advertised. This is my dad’s favourite drink (and yes he happens to be of German background). Molasses, anise/black licorice and notorious herbal complexity. Like tequila it’s got a bad name for being a popular college shot. If you like black licorice though it’s really worth a second try. $29 in Ontario.29.0 CAD per Bottle

Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Non-Potable Bitters — Trinidad
Reviewed December 19, 2018 (edited December 26, 2018)This is 45% ABV??? I never cared to think about what’s it’s alcohol content would be. I’ve never tried it on its own before this. It’s really not bad. It kind of tastes like gingerbread. Tons of molasses, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger. $10 in Ontario.10.0 CAD per Bottle -
So I bought two bottles of this when I was in an absinthe shop in Berlin when I was in my last year of university. I asked for the strongest absinthe they had and this was the one they suggested. It’s strong as hell and tastes of pure chewy black licorice. Since I was there I also bought an “official” absinthe glass and absinthe spoon. If you even remotely like licorice I strongly recommend experiencing a traditional absinthe “cocktail”. It’s worth it just to watch it be prepared. Not available in Ontario.

Crisp and sweet. Stephanie’s Distiller notes are perfect. It smells and tastes like your climbing through a ball pit full of freshly zested oranges/clementines. It’s got a beautiful light syrupy sweetness. Like Stephanie said, the raw spirit does shine through here and there but it only serves to cut the syrupy sweetness, it doesn’t overpower the flavour. $40 in Ontario.40.0 CAD per Bottle

Rich, syrupy, bright and sweet. Jake’s Distiller notes are great. I get rich tropical citrusy sweetness from the grape juice and lychee and the beautifully bright and fresh floral elderflower. A wonderful liqueur, great for adding character to tonics, fizz’s and citrusy cocktails. $50 in Ontario.50.0 CAD per Bottle
