Balcones is one of my favorites. The color is beautifully dark amber. The nose is cherry, some charcoal, and licorice. Taste is joyful. It is for sure Balcones. The cherry is there along with some light coffee. It has some slight burn following that holds you for a while. I love Balcones and Texas.

This is my first taste of any big single malt scotch. The nose gave me maple, citrus, and that medicine smell. Taste was pepper heat, citrus, and some cut grass. I don’t have anything to compare this to, so more single malt is needed. Where do I go from here?

Paired with the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger and complimented it just fine. I think there is taste of some dark fruits to go along with the smoky goodness.

Tasted Vs Elijah Craig Small Batch Both close in proof so I decided to do a blind taste war and see who wins. BT wins as it was just easier to drink and just so delicious.

My intro to Scotch. Nose is light with some fruit smell. Taste has more fruit and some light smoke (I think).
