Nice and smooth, with a leather ish taste and some nice peatedness

Nice and smooth with a minor peated aftertaste. The rather long oak barrel finish is not very present compared to e.g. Lagavaulin 16 (which is way superior in my opinion). Nothing exceptional

Simply amazing. Beautiful and dark colour from the long maturing and a fantastic smell that blends peatedness and oak. You can feel the slightly higher-than-usual alcohol content when you drink this surprisingly smooth but salty and peated beauty. Best whisky I’ve tried (sorry Ardbeg), hands down

The floral aromas this whisky is known for are very present on the pallet but quickly dab off. Relatively smooth end easy to drink with a pronounced honey flavour. Nothing exceptional though, and certainly lacks that sweet’ol peated flavour I so much enjoy

Sweet and peaty but less smooth than e.g. a Laphroaig. Has a somewhat harsh hit. For the true fans of peated whiskey (like myself), this one simply does not justify its relatively high cost

Enjoyable and easy to drink but lacks complexity. Similar in range and taste to e.g. Glenlivet Founder’s reserve

Relatively basic but smooth and rather enjoyable. Strong vanilla flavour

The smaller cask definitely gives this Laphroaig a more woody (and hence peated) flavour compared to the 10 year or Select (which are equally nice at least, and cost less)

Completely cheap and unpleasant taste all the way through. Harsh and uninteresting
