NOM 1480 Amatitan, Jalisco 100% Agave Azul Certified Organic 2.19.22 Served: Neat, Flute Bottle open: <1 Week Aroma: Very clean, bright, and fresh. A pleasant, generic tequila smell. Mandarin orange (lacks the bite of a regular orange, very smooth citrus), ripe mango. Constant inhalation mutes the fruit notes and brings out vanilla and shortbread. Perhaps some caramel or butterscotch, but not dark enough for toffee . Flavor: Hits the tongue with the impression of being very low acid. All the burn is in the throat. Mouthfeel is thick, but dissipates quickly. Chewing: Green plantain. Aeration: Vanilla. Exhalation: Shortbread. Overall pleasant, but not exciting. Would mix well in simple cocktails. A great introductory lowlands tequila for those use to drinking fruity highlands tequilas.

1 of 2 Blind Tiger gins imported by DeVore from Belgium to the USA (the other being Piper Cubeba). The distinguishing attribute if this gin is the inclusions of 3 teas. Manufacturer's notes: 11 BOTANICALS Juniper berries, coriander seeds, grains of paradise, angelica root, iris root, lemon peel, bitter almond, lemon grass, china yunnan matured tea, imperial pu-erh himalaya secret of cashmere black tea, assam black tea harmutty. THE PROCESS Our botanicals (except the teas) are macerated & distilled in a copper pot still (400l). We add the separate distilled teas afterwards. My Tasting: 2.17.22 Served: Neat, flute Bottle Open: <3 Months Aroma: Juniper, green pine wood, grains of paradise, light notes of almond. Collectively smells a bit like dragonfruit. Flavor: First impression is very fruity with light pine notes. Aerating in the mouth gives classic "dusty" angelica and coriander impressions. The fruity, but not bright, finish once again gives impressions of dragonfruit (lack of savory keeps it from being papaya/guava)50.0 USD per Bottle

2.16.22 Served: Neat, Flute Bottle Open: Same day Aroma: Caramel and roasted corn floral sweetness. Some spicy jalapeño notes on the second pass. Nasal fatigue brings out more earthy tones. Flavor: Sweet yet spicy, with a medium body. Tastes relatively young. Sweetness persists into the second and third sip. Savory notes continue to emerge throughout drinking. I imagine this is what a jalapeño cornmeal cupcake would taste like. Will be very interesting to mix with. Unorthodox and unrefined but not unpleasant on its own.30.0 USD per BottleBeer on the Wall
