Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky
Single Grain — JapanReviewed October 23, 2021Clean, friendly, soft vanilla cream. Mellow, soft and thick. It's subtle, citrus, oily malt, but the grain version feels more happy. Good, overpriced.
Blended — Northern IrelandReviewed October 15, 2021Fruity caramel sweet. Slight dull note that doesn't bother. Jameson, Tullamore, Bushmills, always work. I think they are good enough for everyday Irish.
Hibiki Japanese Harmony
Blended — JapanReviewed September 25, 2021Very special, or strange, can't make up my mind. You start with this very smooth balanced and delicious floral whisky, then you start to notice some spices or strangeness, reminds me of rye, maybe damp old wood, cheese, or maybe just herbal honey. Challenging and strange. Kind of magic.
Highland Park Ambassador's Choice 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islands, ScotlandReviewed September 10, 2021Very Highland Park sherry, earth, caramel, chocolate, oak, sweet, touch of smoke. Too good for its nice price, probably why they discontinued it.
Highland Park Twisted Tattoo 16 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islands, ScotlandReviewed September 9, 2021Very much Highland Park. Wasn't impressed at all until way down into the bottle. Needs to sit in the glass for half and hour, then it opens up and becomes happy, caramelly, soft, thick, woody, earthy, guess a touch of peppery smoke. It's okay.
High Coast Berg
Single Malt — SwedenReviewed September 2, 2021Soft, kind, sweet, full, nice. Very smooth and free of alcoholic taste or burn for its 50% ABV and probably young age. Just calm and nice. Batch 6 2021.
Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
Blended — IrelandReviewed August 28, 2021Sweet, soft, takes away the Jameson crisp and niceness. Easy drinker, but nah.
Deanston 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandReviewed July 10, 2021Bitter grapefruit citrus sweet and strange, not very easy. A drop of water, give it a lot of time, it's all right. Mysterious. Something there I'm not friend with.
Ancnoc Peated Edition
Peated Single Malt — Hignland, ScotlandReviewed May 14, 2021It's all right. Sweet fire smoke, sherry, fresh, mute.
Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition
Single Malt — Speyside, ScotlandReviewed March 12, 2021Boring, alcohol, bland sweetness.
