Tastes

Soft, kind, sweet, full, nice. Very smooth and free of alcoholic taste or burn for its 50% ABV and probably young age. Just calm and nice. Batch 6 2021.

Sweet, soft, takes away the Jameson crisp and niceness. Easy drinker, but nah.

Bitter grapefruit citrus sweet and strange, not very easy. A drop of water, give it a lot of time, it's all right. Mysterious. Something there I'm not friend with.

It's all right. Sweet fire smoke, sherry, fresh, mute.

Boring, alcohol, bland sweetness.

Very nice, bold, powerful, soft spice, rye, oak, nice dryness. High ABV, complex, good enough any day of the week. Personal favourite available bourbon together with Four Roses small batch.

Similar to Jameson, I like it! Bright and light, clean, fresh, a tad sweeter, caramel, vanilla, a tiny bit softer, some bitterness. Subtle and easy drinkin'.

Delicate, fresh, sweet, light citrus sour wet moss fire smoke. Subtle! Nature, ocean, fruity sweet, round, balanced, mild, super kind, very nice.

Jack is Jack, not night and day but Barrel Select is a nicer version of Old No 7. Relatively smooth, round, mellow, deep, nice touch of oak and hint of leather or tobacco, good mouth feel, sweet and calm, more focused, less alcoholic bubble gum than No 7, probably a bit better maturation since barrels are selected from the top floor. Perfect ABV. Not a bang for the buck, but it's nice. The Bottled in Bond version is much of the same, Bond is just a tad more crazy, complex, both round and with sharp edges at the same time, even when watered down to the same level as Barrel Select. Still a nice amount of oak, aftertaste, it sits around for a while. I like both. No need for Old No 7 now.

Mild, sugar sweet, soothing and super safe. Soft earthiness. Nothing to dislike. Round, nothing sticks out. Nice entry level 40 ABV single malts, a bit dull and thin, easily gone.
