Nose: alcohol, oak, something that is trying to be spice, maybe caramel's great grandfather. Taste: woody booze, not good, not a sipper, can't find any flavor but burning. Maybe put this in coke if you want to get drunk? It didn't even make a decent old fashioned when I couldn't take it neat or on ice (and other 100 proof offerings have never bothered me).26.0 USD per Bottle

Jameson Caskmates Stout Nose: orange, toffee, hops, hint of malt Taste: toffee, vanilla, oak, green peppercorn, dark chocolate This isn't overly complex as the notes are fairly straightforward and easy to identify, but it's not a standard flavor for an Irish. It's fun and quirky. The short finish is more than made up for by the rich body, which makes every sip a joyful burst of flavor23.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: nail polish, floral (orange blossom?), rye grain, cinnamon, apple pie, buttery Taste: green apple, cinnamon, peppery, mint, vanilla extract, oak comes out in the finish; not getting the sweetness many others are finding and I'm completely okay with that Ultimately it's another fine rye, but a bit overpriced for the quality. I've had better options in this price range. Will enjoy the bottle nonetheless!46.0 USD per Bottle

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020 (edited July 12, 2020)Best bourbon I've had yet. The 35% rye really brings this one into a flavor profile that I adore. Usually bourbons are too sweet for me. Too much corn sweetness and it gets cloying. This is a perfect blend of corn with rye to enhance the sweetness of the corn to even mellow it a little. Typically I go for rye or scotch to get those big flavors without too much sweet, but this is going to become a staple in my home bar. Nose: caramel, oak, vanilla, pear, peppery spice Taste: sweet toffee/caramel, raisins, spices typical of a rye: coriander, green peppercorn, allspice; finishes long and sweet typical of a bourbon but it's a toasted sweetness, like a burnt marshmallow, that doesn't overwhelm with sugar like some bourbons -
Very different rye from what I've had in the past and it's definitely interesting and unique, more good than bad, but not likely one I'll buy again when there are so many I want to try. I didn't get much spice at all and that's one of the main reasons I drink rye. Nose: musty, apples, nutty, rum, molasses, grassy Taste: sharp, oak, vanilla extract, woodsy, menthol, tobacco
