Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 1, 2019 (edited January 2, 2019)If you’ve had one dalmore you’ve had um all. I like this and the 18- very similar - lots of brown sugar on the nose and palate. -
Glen Moray Elgin Classic
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 28, 2018 (edited December 29, 2018)To be technical: This is probably the worst whisky i’v ever tasted, i’v had brown bottom shelf Vodka blends that greatly outshined this one. 🤮 -
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey
Other Liqueurs — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 24, 2018 (edited July 18, 2019)Red neon lights confuse my focus- I can feel the black boozy sugar bar grime from the floor crawling up my damp shoe into my pant leg as I accidentally catch the eye of a woman smiling at me with dentures and flowing pink xl sweatshirt over near the billiard area as I wash the after taste of this one down with high life. This is the sticky lcd screened Billy Ray Cyrus jukebox button of whiskey; overpowered by honey flavoring, machine infused with as much sugar as chemically possible; there’s a place in my being for this whisky that sits along side memories of bar brawls/ smell of urine / camo hats/ vomit / and pre worn jeans with rhinestone laden pockets... just don’t tell my heart. -
Heaven Hill 27 Year Barrel Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 9, 2018 (edited December 20, 2019)This was excellent- definitely well balanced and not over oaked for the age - the nose was bright, inviting and fruity- the palate Didn’t exactly match the nose but hit me just right- not too sweet and not too spicy, somewhat viscous with a great spice. The finish was clean quick and magical without any tannins or funk. I’m not a big fan of HH, but this was the best bourbon i’v had in a while. 👍🏼 -
Damn good, ....damn damn good stuff. Go ahead and be a fan boy of the atypical hard to find single malt stuff and let this one fly by- but wow- every time I pour a glass of JW 18 I’m just so impressed at the mature and delicious flavor profile- and the smoothness is like no other. This whiskey is nicely priced, and nicely done- and as a side note it has one off the coolest bottle designs in the business.

Parker's Heritage Barrel Finished in Orange Curaçao Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 17, 2018 (edited November 23, 2018)Aside from the 24 year expression - I find Parker’s to be overrated - primarily because of the thin mouth feel and quick finish; I want my unicorn whiskey to have “muscle” to it, blow me away, dance on my tongue- that’s not this whiskey - it’s similar to the 11 year; thin, hot, dry mouth feel, big young bitter lingering oak, quick finish... forgettable. 🤷🏼♂️ -
Bunnahabhain 18 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 13, 2018 (edited January 30, 2022)The bottle looks like I’m pouring olive oil into my glass... .. . . speaking of oil; this whiskey is incredibly viscous and enjoyable- one of the longest finishes I’ve had in the unpeated whisky realm. The palate is wildly complex and changes from sweet and spicy to salty and smooth while maintaining an incredibly round mouthfeel. The 12 is damn close to the 18, the 12 has a brighter nose and spice to the palate- both are fantastic. This is tasty stuff and well worth picking up a bottle if you’re a macallan / mortlach / fiddich/ glenlivet/ aberlour/ pulteny fan. 👍🏼👍🏼120.0 USD per Bottle
