Copperworks American Single Malt (Release No. 038)
American Single Malt — Washington, USA
Reviewed July 11, 2021Very strong grain aroma, but the flavor is where it gets points for uniqueness. At first you taste almost nothing but a very light sherry, then everything builds up to an explosive tail of spice and coffee. The progression is really cool.Copperworks Distilling Company -
Copperworks American Single Malt (Release No. 002)
American Single Malt — Washington, USA
Reviewed July 11, 2021Dark and almost medicinal aroma. Can't quite place what it is. Way different from release 01, mostly sweet and barley flavors. Also more burn with the same very quick tail. Also in need of some more balance.Copperworks Distilling Company -
Copperworks American Single Malt (Release No. 001)
American Single Malt — Washington, USA
Reviewed July 11, 2021Dark caramel notes on the nose. Fiery on the tongue, a good amount of sweet and spice. You can taste the proof, a little more richness would balance the strength well. A little thin, makes the tail pretty short. But a good first expression.Copperworks Distilling Company -
Copperworks American Single Malt (Release No. 034)
American Single Malt — Washington, USA
Reviewed July 11, 2021You can make out the peat aroma if you are looking for it. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. Peat flavor is way subtler than your get from Islay but the result is excellent balance. Dark and complex flavor, quite enjoyable.Copperworks Distilling Company -
Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye Distiller's Edition 92 Proof
Rye — Virginia, USA
Reviewed May 21, 2021Powerful lemon cake aroma. Subtle rye spice underneath. On the tongue it's all rye though. I get a hint of soap, but I feel like I taste that with rye a lot. Probably just me. On the finish I find the lemon again.
