Tastes

The usual mellow Irish flavor at first, then the casks shine through and give it some dimension. Dried fruit and caramel grows on the tail to make it more enjoyable.

Sharper and younger tasting than it's cousin, you can taste more fruit notes than the two poles but I much more prefer that expression.

Super dark aroma, spice and chocolate. Flavor is the same, smooth and complex. Love finding a bourbon with chocolate notes this strong. Richness compliments the flavors well, fantastic bourbon.

Aroma is spicy and herbal. Taste is quintessential rye, plenty of richness and body to let the spice linger. One of the better ryes I've had.

Rich and dark, an interesting aroma. There are definitely notes I can't place. Stout flavors and dark medicinal flavors on the tongue. I also get nuts, maybe walnuts. It's rich and strong, and excellent combination to it's dark flavors. Excellent.

Wine aroma, subtly sweet. Body is just the right amount of rich, perfectly balanced. The flavor to me is if you put Talisker 10 year in a wine barrel for a bit. Definitely a new favorite.

Oak and spice forward nose, super spicy on the tongue. Great tingly tail, could use some richness though.

Light and sweet aroma, enjoyable but hard for me to place. Maybe floral? Flavor is strong and spicy, plenty of rye flavor with a sweeter tail. Medium body, richer than expected. Pretty good coming from someone who doesn't care for rye that much.

Dark caramel aroma, some proof comes through too. Super rich, excellent to balance the proof, I taste predominantly caramel and maybe something darker, like toffee. Plenty of burn on the tail but still is great.

There's a nice aroma here but it's buried under alcohol burn for me. Harsh initial hit, a little sweet, then the wine barrel on a medium tail. Interesting but too harsh for me to really enjoy neat. However the wine cask makes it very good for a Boulevardier, absolutely recommend it for that.
