Finlaggan Old Reserve Islay Single Malt
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 13, 2020 (edited November 23, 2020)Aroma is really peaty with sweetness underneath. Actually combines together rather nicely. Flavor is peat dominant, honey in the middle, and a black pepper tail. Very nice for the price point, at least medium rich. All it's missing is a longer tail and some complexity and it would be great. -
Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 28, 2020 (edited March 12, 2020)Smells like rye, but aroma is pretty faint. I notice the body more than the flavor, super thick and oily, spreads into a great tail. Rye and pepper spice flavors just sit and linger, and there's none of that soapy flavor I sometimes get from ryes. Magnificent. The Whisky Bar -
Aberfeldy 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 28, 2020 (edited February 24, 2021)Super sweet aroma, powerful and fruity. The body is rich enough to carry the flavor, and to me this tastes like dessert. The fruit and vanilla taste like peach cobbler or some fruit pastry. Lovely, a little too sweet for my taste but well done. The Whisky Bar -
Medley Brothers Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 19, 2020 (edited July 4, 2020)Light caramel and wood aroma with some alcohol power to it. Super spicy flavor, hits right from the start. Tons of cinnamon cut with sweetness. Medium body that I wish was heavier, but the flavor is great for the pricepoint. The Carlile Room -
Absolutely love the aroma. Dark, complex, medicinal anans fruity. Like a bitter dark cherry. Flavor is deep and spicy. The proof and the spice let that flavor dance on the tongue through a great tail. Mostly wood and heat from the spice with medicinal undertones. Atypical flavors, but done well. The Barrel Thief

Mostly wood and alcohol on the nose. Maybe some fruit. A little light on the tongue, the flavor feels lighter than the richness. Mostly wood and grain. The flavors get quickly lost in the burn though. Body and flavors don't match for me on this one. Reminds me of an Irish whiskey. It reviews really well so maybe my tasting came from an oxidized bottle or something because I wasn't really feeling it.The Barrel Thief
