I like the nose is floral, kind of remind of some red wine and maybe lemon in the back. Maybe a hint of honey. Taste is alright a little boring smooth, light, definitely from the speyside with some black pepper note. I suggest to let it sit for a while. The first sip is almost tasteless but it open up with time and become more enjoyable. It a decent whisky, but nothing to get excited. I would buy only if I got a great deal. Maybe recommend for a newbie.

I smell leather and some thinner with some sweetness. Taste not really complexe. Taste like butterscotch/caramel and creamy a little bit of spice and can taste the grapes in the background. Also have a solvent taste that weird. The finish fade quickly except for the butterscotch. If you enjoy really sweet whisky this is for you, but it a little too much for me. For the price not bad but not impressed. Probably won't buy it again, but wouldn't turn down if someone offer me a pour. 99 was the GOAT of hockey, but is whisky is subpar.35.0 CAD per Bottle

Note is smoky and peaty but mild with a ocean smell. Less intense then Laphroaig 10. Taste pleasant got a mild smoke taste, some zest perhaps lemon with some fruity sweet that I can't really figure it out. Get that tingling on my tongue that I enjoy with peat scotch.the finish not lingering. The peat smoke is definitely there but it not challenging, perhaps a good introduction to peated whisky. Would most likely purchase again.

Nose less intense then Laphroaig 10 years. Smell peat, oak and weak smoke. Taste is enjoyable. Being new with Islay, that was not to out of what I'm used to compared to Laphroaig 10. Get a mixe of smokiness, peat and spice, no burn. Slightly medicinal taste and sweet at the hand pehap vanilla or caramel. Really enjoyable. Good one to ease in in peated whisky.

mostly a Speyside drinker, and this first attempt to Islay since the awful Jura i try. Nose, definitely smoky peaty. Mix of BBQ and new tire smell. Taste: completely new to me. Used to sweet or spicy whisky and that throw me out. No burn. I don't hate the taste. It really weird and probably i should do a second review when I try more Islay. The taste remind of cherry spray throat cepacol it even give the same tangly feeling at the tongue that last. Got also some bbq smoke note and some salty note like sea salt. The finish is really enjoyable. Never understand with all the horrible description why people love it. Now I know and the more sip I have and getting acclamatized to the smoke and the more enjoying it and discover some sweetness

Nose get some spice and malt smell is not strong. Taste: i can taste some caramel and spice but cant pinpoint exactly, cinnamon and mint. Also got a creamy feel and in middle range i got a hint of honey. As a finish it fade quickly maybe because is a young whisky. Overall for the price it good wouldn't mind as a daily drink and I can see being great as a mixer.40.0 CAD per Bottle

Aberlour 12 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 19, 2020 (edited December 28, 2020)For people that like balvenie double wood 12 years, you definitely like that one as they taste pretty similar. Although I found balvenie slightly better, perhaps I should let sit longer as a lot of people comment on this. The nose wasn't strong mostly fruity and some citrus note. No alcohol smell. The taste I definitely taste the sherries, fruity note, apple, chocolate, honey. And the finish taste like cinnamon and it warm but doesnt last long. As a Speyside I definitely recommend it. Although If I had the choice i think I prefer the Aberlour 10 years old.56.0 CAD per Bottle -
Not a bourbon fan, but I actually enjoy that one. Nose have some spice and the the palate I can taste the rye, spice and some sweet note, honey and apple. The finish is more future as the spice fade away. Really enjoyable. The first sip got some burn but after the second sip is really enjoyable.30.0 CAD per Bottle
