Tastes

Nose: Smoke, dry white wine, green grapes, dust, peanut oil. Taste: Dusty smoke, buttered crackers, bitter fruit. Experience: Walking into a dusty, musky, attic. There might be treasures to be found if you look or possibly just cobwebs. Either way you are here to explore.

Nose: Orange, green apple, buttered toast. Taste: Cake batter, clove, buttery nutty finish. Experience: backing in the kitchen.

Nose: Honey. Honey. Aaaand 🍯. Almond, salt, and a spritz of citrus. Taste: Sweet pastry start, with a light salt and hay, then a strong honey and bright wood finish. Experience: it's like eating baklava by the ocean. Sweet and nutty with some pastry and a touch of salt.

Nose: Dusty sugar like a pixy stick, caramel, floral and fruit notes. Taste: peppery spice, fruit, unsweetened cherry, nutmeg, with a fresh mint finish. Experience: It's fall in a small town square after a light rain. The wind picks up and mingles the smell of hot confections with earthy herbs. It's constantly changing and you will find new notes with each sip. A delight.

Nose: apple, wood, cinnamon, nutmeg, Taste: Cerry, maple, wood char. Honestly this is another "bourbon's bourbon." nothing of note sticks out as unique but all are very well done and welcome. Put it on the shelf next to Blanton's.

Nose: peat, slight B.O. apricot, brine. Taste: Burnt toast, honey, green apple. Experience: For being "heavily peated" this is a refreshing Islay. Sort of like when the sun is shining even though it is raining heavily.

Nose: Light smoke, juicy citrus, slight toffee, chocolate, horchata even. Taste: Butter, apple, molasses, waxy raisin, and almonds. A surprising amount of wood, spice. Experience: Putting out the fireplace after a Christmas party. Dull spices and sweets line the air from events of the night. They mingle with some smoke but just that of an extinguished flame, or your grandfather's pipe residue. Bonus: pour a small amount of a peated Scotch and another speyside. Take turns smelling one then Fire and Cane you will find that the smoke will disappear or get stronger based on what you smell before. Fun!

Taste: Honeycomb Cereal, raisin, cinnamon, Cocoa Taste: Raisin, dark chocolate, waxy wood, orange olive oil... love? Experience: A first date. Puppy love. A highshcol sweet heart. It is that moment where you like something without needing to understand why. Will it last? Not likely. Is it superficial? Probably. Are there more meaningful relationships to be had? Totally. But damnit if you don't love it at the time. It's one of the friendliest whiskeys you can find. Even at room temperature it tastes cool to the pallet. I see why so many people recommend it as a gateway to whiskey.

Nose: pear, apple, vanilla, spices, jolly ranchers. Taste: sweetness, cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg, cereal, wood at the end. Experience: The black bottle and unknown casks gives Project XX a mysterious tone. The contents of the bottle do the same. Like the Glenlivet Code you can spend a whole night picking this apart, and you'll want to as it is delicious.
