Tastes

Initially quite sweet, then calms to a mild vanilla and fruit there is a background of spice that can occasionally pop to the surface

On the nose it has traces of treacle - it tastes creamy, with vanilla, burnt butter and biscuit that reminds you of your mum baking cakes for the local church coffee morning. There is a spicy in there that adds a kick. Something different and very nice, but it’s little brother the clubman may beat it......... I’ve also tried this as an old fashioned, and it really comes to life

Second tasting - on the nose there’s a sweet Smokey aroma Taste - first flavour is the spice which stays with u long term. The smoke is there but plays second fiddle - over all very well balanced After party - once everything settles and you think the experience is by.... then the smoke rises up as a final farewell

This is a big big big spicy whisky. The smoke and peat aren’t overpowering, they play backing singer to the spicy hit in this one

It is a big hit of smoke, but it’s nicely balanced with the peat and spice. This is in no way a gimmick- it’s a well thought out whisky

To be clear, I’m not a peat fan, but this is fantastic. Slight tcp on the nose, first taste is alcohol, followed instantly by spicy. The smoke and peat are there, but the whole dram is balanced in a way that the flavour constant attack your tastebuds.... the BSDM of whisky. Even if you don’t like peat or smoke, please try this spicy little number

Ohh a really surprise with this compared to other offerings from Jura. Only very slight smoke, but a big big hit of spicy - I don’t pick up on any peat in this expression

Lovely hit of spice, vanilla, citrus - a finish of honey and brown sugar. Very nice whisky - can only be championed by the 16yr
