The flavour isn’t really for me, but I can see it growing on me. I love the concept of how the solera is made with 50% of this batch going into the next so that the product is ever evolving into something new, but with its roots deep into its ancestral batches. If it wasn’t so dry and a bit less smoke it would be perfect for me

Ballantines use to be my favourite whisky, but as my tastes have changed and I’m moved to milder flavours I have bought it less and less - it’s a recipe that has too many dominant flavours, there’s a similar level of smoke, peat and caramel mixed with notable flavours you would find in sweeter brands. So instead of a dry oak, smoke, and peat it’s more of a sweet oak, smoke, peat

Wooow I’ve not experimented with the American market much. But I wanted to venture out a bit, I’ll be honest I seen this and makers at the same price, chose this due to the bottle...... love it - can serve it str8 or as an old fashioned or sour and it tastes great - only think that lets it down is the claims around the company27.0 GBP per Bottle
