Nose: Musty Oaky Unique for a rye Palate: Nice spice on the front-end Well balanced Subtle finish - fairly short with little complexity There is not a ton going on with this rye, but it easily beats out a lot of other offerings with a higher price point.

Nose: Brief ethanol at the start Tobacco Carmel Brief Clove at the end Palate: Burn right off the top Transitions to Licorice notes All over the place after that Finish: fairly long but kind of rough Caramel/sugar/saccharine/cola at the back end Can’t put my finger on it, but just kind of an odd overall profile, but I’ve had worse for more cost.

Nose: Oaky Cinnamon Heavy Herbal/rye notes A little bit of smoke on the back end Palate: Sweet Dark fruits Caramel Finish: Slight warming burn - medium length finish Candied cherry on the very end If you can find at retail, this is well worth the purchase.

Distinctive nose Definitely pick up the port Very sweet Black Cherry Smokey on the end Port and accompanying sweetness carries through the palate - mouthfeel is slightly thinner than expected Finish is well balanced with minimal bite, is fairly short Not a lot of complexity here, but this is an excellent pour for the price.

Nose: Ethanol Herbal rye Some sweeter notes at the end Palate: A sweetness I don’t often find in a rye, just enough and not overpowering the rye notes Perfect amount of burn, a little less than expected Finish: Sweetness carries through A little shorter than expected but pleasant notes with a nice rye kick at the very end This is right up there with Willett 4 yr as my favorite rye. Great stuff

Nose: Vanilla Slight herbal and very slight cinnamon Palate: Rich mouthfeel Dark fruits Vanilla Finish: Medium length finish, Sweet with a solid but not overpowering burn... exactly what you want from a 115 proof bourbon This is at the upper end of proof level that usually gravitate towards, but it is well blended. Recommend and will purchase again.

Nose: Heavy clove A hint of Soap?! Cinnamon Smoke Palate: This is a Cinnamon bomb, like eating a handful of red hots — transitions nicely from spice to sweet. Finish: Almost like a wheater... fairly smooth finish with medium length, just a little thin. This rye surpassed my expectations for the entry level offering from Whistlepig. Scored a great price but would still recommend at msrp closer to $45-50.

Nose: Clove, transitioning to smoky notes, before ending with strong grassy notes Palate: the wheat comes through and the notes move from spice to sweet Finish: Short-medium finish with a slight Kentucky hug Not a bad bourbon, but a little disappointing for the price point.

Nose: Peanut butter transitions to butterscotch then to Carmel Palate: Carmel bomb! This is dessert in a glass. Slight warmth going down, less so than typical 100 proof Finish: Sweet, Medium finish. Only knock on this one is that it’s hard to pick up on the rye notes even though it’s a 95/5 mashbill. This is a unique, tasty pour. Would buy again.

Nose: Herbal Baking spices Significant Brown sugar Molasses Palate: Nice kick on front end Classic rye notes Finish: Long finish Very well balanced Sweetness at the end This a great rye at the price. Does not necessarily bite like a 110 proof. Definitely recommend.
