Nose: Herbal notes transitioning to subtle brown sugar before ending with some smokiness Palate: Quite sweet on the front end. Dark fruits and cinnamon are the main notes. Finish: Medium-length finish featuring baking spices predominately with a little heat on the backend Not bad overall. Slightly preferable to the single barrel in my opinion.39.99 USD per Bottle

George Dickel 11 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2008)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2020 (edited September 17, 2020)Nose: Floral Clove Smoke Little bit of nuttiness Palate: Smooth and subtle with brown sugar notes Finish: Medium length with a stronger than expected brash bite at the very end and nutty notes lingering Not all that enjoyable compared to others available at the price point.43.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: starts off with Baking spices and Ethanol before moving to grassy herbal notes and cinnamon Palate: Predominately oak/wood notes, not a lot else Finish: caramel dominates the finish, which features a Moderate burn on a medium-long finish Hard to beat this bourbon’s value given the price point and 1L size. Recommend picking up and keeping on hand.26.99 USD per Bottle

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 28, 2020 (edited September 17, 2020)Nose: Starts with wheat, I get a hint of ethanol before significant dark fruit notes. Ends with hint of clove. Palate: Classic wheater profile. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish: Best thing about this bourbon. Impressively long finish with the perfect amount of heat, particularly given it’s a 90 proof. Very solid bourbon at its retail price.22.99 USD per Bottle -
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 20, 2020 (edited September 17, 2020)Nose: starts with brief nutty notes transitioning to baking spices. Rye spices them come through followed by strong molasses and vanilla. Rye comes back at the end to finish the nose. Palate: a burst of vanilla and rye intermingling perfectly with each other through a well-balanced mouthfeel Finish: Smooth for a cask strength with a long, lasting finish. I was not a rye fan initially but wow this is an excellent whisky. It is flavorful, with a just right mix of complexity and smoothness. Can’t recommend enough!62.0 USD per Bottle -
Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2020 (edited August 6, 2022)Nose: Ethanol/Paint thinner right off the bat, transitioning into apple and floral notes, and then an overwhelming grass/hay profile. Palate: This is a different bourbon to put it mildly — only note that is significant enough to come through is a strong grassy flavor. Finish: Smooth initially but then an extremely bitter aftertaste takes over. I really wanted to like this bourbon but... ooh boy it’s a rough ride.47.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: Very complex...Vanilla followed by strong apple notes which carry through, joined by caramel and then oak Palate: Oak is the heaviest note and you can definitely pick up the char, ending with baking spices. The mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish: Medium length, a nice bite for a 90 proof. This is a solid pour for the price if you can find it at or near retail.34.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is complex... starts with heavy apple, moving to other fruit notes before finishing with cinnamon, nutmeg, and big time brown sugar notes. I wish the complexity carried over to the palate. Clove/grassy notes give way to a slight apple taste. The finish is satisfyingly long, with a larger than expected bite on the front end for a sub-100 proof.39.99 USD per Bottle
