Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2018 (edited September 24, 2023)Sample review. Big and powerfull! Ash and camp fire smoke on the nose. This dram takes over your palate. Peat, brine, smoke, sweet caramelized bbq. A long finish. This bottle costs 180 CAD$ here in Quebec which I find way to much. If I could find it for a decent price this would be a no brainer.Montreal -
Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2010
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2018 (edited December 27, 2018)Love me some Bruichladdich! Distilled in 2010, bottled in 2017. Awesome packaging and lovely presentation of the whisky. Lovely sea breeze on the nose, makes you feel like you're at the beach on a windy day. The palate has grilled lemons with black pepper and sea salt. You catch a hint of the wine casks used on the finish combined with brine and again some black pepper. Really impressive stuff for such a young whisky. Love the transparency of Bruichladdich. I definitely recommend this one, cheers all.89.0 CAD per BottleMontreal -
Caol Ila Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 20, 2018 (edited September 24, 2023)Sample review. I'm directly in love with this dram, will be on the lookout for a bottle. The fruity notes from the Moscatel sherry work perfectly together with the mild smoke and saltiness of Coal Ila. Tropical fruits and camp fire smoke on the nose. It has a very sweet arrival of again juicy tropical fruits. The finish is unmistakably Islay with peat, salt and smoke. Fantastic!Montreal -
Such an iconic bottle, never seen it before here in Quebec, had to pick it up. Barrel 949, warehouse H, rick 45, dumped on 7-26-18. Sweet caramel and butterscotch on the nose. Very pleasant and well rounded. On the palate I get cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar and faint citrus notes. This is oily bourbon, it coats your mouth beautifully. The finish is spicy and lingering and medium long. Great addition to my bar75.0 CAD per BottleMontreal

Wolfburn Northland
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 18, 2018 (edited December 19, 2018)This malt has always intrigued me since I first saw the bottle, simply stunning presentation. Acquired a sample today. A floral nose with a faint hint of orchard fruits. Slightly sour on the palate, green apples and some spices. The finish is relatively short. Overal a decent dram, needs some extra aging though. Would still pick up a bottle if its reasonably priced. Reminds me of Arran and Tobermory.Montreal -
Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso (Travel Retail)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 16, 2018 (edited April 22, 2019)Great value again, only 83 Canadian $ and delicious. I'm talking about the cask strenght version, I have the 48% travel retail exclusive as well but I keep that one for guests :p. Very fruity on the nose, a big hit of plums and apricots. It has also a dry and slightly salty quality to it. Very long finish of dark fruits again, my tong is a bit numb because of the ABV. Great dessert dram!83.0 CAD per BottleMontreal
