Fun mix of spice/herbal and oak/caramel. Has a unique note of dill and a honey/vanilla note that ties things together nicely. Really great and unique, especially for the price!

Powerful flavors - malted cereal, sweet, dark fruits and spice with high tongue burn and heat. Some pepper/spice. It’s a “love it or hate it” whiskey - really unique but a bit expensive and polarizing.

Really nice showcase of MGP rye. Spicy, sweet, and just a bit herbal and minty. Hot but not overly so, especially given its proof. Delicious.

One of the most unique whiskies I’ve had this year - I liked it more with each pour. Like an Irish take on a wine-finished bourbon. Fruity, slightly dry, with bourbon-y vanilla and oak rounding it out. I dig it.

Rich, spicy and sweet all at once. I get vanilla and brown sugar with spices, mint and a tongue burn like a red-hot candy. Powerful, interesting whiskey and a bargain at/under $50. If you want high-proof classic bourbon sweet without spice this may not be for you (try Old Forester 1920) but it’s an excellent combo.

This one tasted different each time I poured it. Sometimes it had a harsh, astringent taste that overpowered the blend (just missed being a 4/favorite because of this) but overall an intriguing mix of rye-like spice and bourbon-sugar sweet. Not stellar but unique and worth trying at the price - made a good old fashioned and would be fun in a blind tasting.

Pleasant, mellow rye. Some of the expected herbal and sweet notes from the “low rye” content, but a bit of tannin and fruit, perhaps from the wine casks. There are better ryes out there but it’s fantastic for the price.

Malt, chocolate, and dark fruit. Like a dark sweet cereal dessert. Makes a killer old fashioned and sipper alike at a great price.

Light, and sweet. Nothing complicated or harsh, but nothing terribly memorable. Not bad for a basic or beginner scotch but ultimately left me wanting something with more flavor or depth.

Heavy oak and dark fruits - distinct note of cherry and some chocolate. Perfect with dessert and dangerously easy to drink at 115 proof!
