Longmorn 16 Year (Discontinued)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2020 (edited May 9, 2021)Finally tried the original to compare to the 2016 release. The two are almost identical, and if you’re not paying close attention, they can easily be mistaken as the same whisky. Without taking too much from Daniel from the Whiskey Vault, I honestly agree with him in that the same things are happening in both, but at different times. A lot of rich honeyed fruits, followed by a spike of spice, finishing with floral and more butterscotch sweetness. Also I must say, the original is a little hotter than the new one, but they’re the same proof. Might be stoned to death for saying this, but I like the 2016 release JUST slightly more than the original. Both are phenomenal and are the furthest from being disappointments by any means. For me, the sharp peak happens a lot sooner upon intake and explodes with richness, and honestly I kinda dig that a little more than getting it towards the end. -
My first Kavalan experience and I’m the furthest thing from disappointed. I’m typically not crazy about whiskies that are super light and friendly, but this is just really hard not to love. Honey, vanilla and tropical fruit at every part of this whisky’s journey. Really nice and rounded80.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or Sauternes Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 8, 2020 (edited December 23, 2020)Light and delicate like a white wine. While nice to sip on, it’s a little too boring for me. It’s very sweet and goes down like water -
Balcones Lineage Texas Single Malt
American Single Malt — Texas, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2020 (edited November 24, 2020)A softer approach to their staple single malt. A lot of the same flavors, but turned down on the “burnt” caramel and baked fruit. Really nice and smooth35.0 USD per BottleMission Wine & Spirits -

Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 19, 2020Very comparable to the classic 10, but with a darker, mustier nose. The taste is your typical sherry cask scotch, but has a really pleasant creaminess to it -
Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Nevada), USA
Reviewed October 4, 2020 (edited October 13, 2020)Your typical bourbon notes but not so heavy with the cherry on this one. Still a pleasant drink nevertheless
