Finally opened this bottle after nursing batch 15. On the nose there's copious amounts of brown sugar, cherries, and the unmistakable barrel char. On the palate I found it more smooth than batch 15. The obvious heat is still there but it's mellow with vanilla, cherries, and smokiness coming through. The finish is long and building. I think favor this one to batch 15, now I just have to get my hands on the others!

So this is one of the few reviews where I do not agree with the distiller review at all. On the nose it's sweet and oaky. On the palate it's smooth with vanilla and a hint of barrel spice. The finish is short and fleeting. Overall I think it suffers from being 82 proof. Distiller rating this at 94/100 is laughable. It's definitely worth it's $25 price point, but nothing to write home about.

As soon as I opened this bottle I could smell the heat. After letting it sit in the glass a few minutes I got heavy brown sugar and lingering ethanol on the nose. On the palate neat you immediately get hit with some cinnamon spice, but it's surprisingly smooth. The brown sugar shines through as well as some cherry and faint nuttiness. Adding some ice changes everything. The ice opened up some vanilla and toned down the spice, personally I enjoyed that a lot better. The finish is fairly long from the spice and quite pleasant. I need to compare with 2021-3, but overall pretty good. Not sure it's worth the $90 price Jim Beam is asking though.

Got my hands on my dad's really old bottle of rare breed. This one was 108.2 proof rather than the now standard 116.8. On the nose there's a bit more ethanol, but the wild turkey barrel char is still there. The palate is sweet and rich with some really pleasant vanilla and spice. Finish is fairly long with leaving you wanting another sip.

Totally agree with the distiller review on this one. Loads of vanilla bean and chocolate on the nose. The palate confirms the vanilla from the nose with some cinnamon and spice that makes for a decently long finish.

Sweet heat on the nose. Pretty smooth on the palate with some smoke and sweet cherries. Finish is medium with some MGP heat. Bottom line, good stuff.

No alcohol on the nose, but lots of vanilla. The sip is interesting, it's very sweet and smooth, with a metric fuck ton of vanilla and butterscotch giving way to a somewhat bitter finish. No need for ice with this one, but I also wouldn't buy it again.

On the nose there's molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla. It smells rich, and sure enough on the palate, it is. It's rich and full bodied, with sweet chocolate up front then a nice toasty cinnamon on the back end. This is a really tasty pour!

On the nose you get cinnamon, barrel char, and brown sugar, which is no surprise. On the palate it's smooth with some vanilla and brown sugar, but as it finishes the cinnamon and pepper from the toasted barrel starts to come through for a long warming finish. This is a great pour for a cold night.

On the nose there's a ton of vanilla with citrus and oak. On the palate it's a vanilla bomb. It's smooth and sweet with a perfect amount of barrel spice. The finish is medium long and just as sweet. For the money this is an incredible bourbon.
