Nose: very pungent scent and brightness! Floral and sweet, like fresh roses and blackberry. A slight scent of nail polish remover, but the scented kind that isn't so harsh. 1st sip: waiting for the flavor to pop, then after you swallow you get a rush of spice and heat that lingers lightly on the sides and back of the tongue. 2nd sip: oak and spice, fruity and not as floral as the nose was. Fruit is like a pear and a just unripe cherry mixed together. Definitely getting some butterscotch and vanilla. Maybe pudding-like. I also feel like I get a NyQuil flavor as well. Overall, for 25 bucks, this is good stuff. I bet it would go great in an old fashioned but I'd also be happy drinking it neat. I like this more than Buffalo Trace at it's 23 dollar price point. I feel it's a little more complex and interesting, especially with the added heat and the floral fruity mix. I can dig it .25.0 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale

Nose is light and fruity with notes of cherry and apple, light vanilla and oak. Nose is very pleasant. Almost like a fresh cold apple juice. Carmel and green raisins. Peppermint. Just tried the nose again 2 days later and got straight up grape Kool aid on the nose. First sip: a little minty and spicy like a red hot. Leaves a good finish lingering for about 20 seconds or so. Return sip 2: so smooth, good burn going down, rye spice is lighter than other eyes I've had. Overall this is a nice rye whiskey especially for 28 bucks. At only 90 proof though I'd rather have the knob Creek rye for 29.99 at 100 proof. The knob Creek is more oaky, and a little more complex on the flavor.27.99 USD per BottleMeijer

Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2020 (edited October 15, 2020)Very light tasting, young bourbon. Light fruitiness, slight oak, cherry. I really feel like this bourbon is too young. For the price range I would much prefer the elijah craig small batch or wild turkey 101. Even buffalo trace I've this. I'm sure they're higher end stuff is great but this did not impress me for 40 freaking dollars.40.0 USD per Bottle -

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2020 (edited January 2, 2021)1st sips from a new bottle. Very mellow, smooth, Maple syrup, vanilla, toasted nuts, spices. Smokey, ripe fruit, chocolate, creamy vanilla, spices with sweet candied notes of tangerine. Last sips from the same bottle. Getting more of a light honey, very low proof and low on flavor density. Still getting some of that ripe fruit but I am now defining it as more of a blueberry. I'm also getting a bit of vanilla cream with honey on top. So I'm imagining a bowl of fresh blueberries and gala apple, covered in honey and vanilla cream with a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon.40.0 USD per Bottle
