Cazadores Blanco Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 6, 2019 (edited July 25, 2020)Tasting neat. Whew..the aroma has a sweet rubber, plastic herbal note that's all unnatural. Taste is nutra-sweet, dry, vegetal, herbal, fruity, vanilla, and peppery, but again very artificial. If you love things like whipped cream or fruity cereal themed vodka, you'll love this.15.0 USD per Bottle -

Corralejo Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Guanajuato, Mexico
Reviewed April 6, 2019 (edited May 29, 2020)Tasting neat. Nose is honey covered pears and agave with a touch of oak and pepper. Taste is very smooth and true to the nose. Creamy..almost buttery, slight honey sweetness with agave and pear fruitiness with a little pepper and very slight oak. The finish is crisp and is sugar cane sweet and black pepper. Not crazy complex, but very drinkable and unoffensive. Bright and fruity. Very good value, so a little bonus for that.. I've given this to people that make that Cuervo face when you just mention tequila.. and this is always gives that world rocking response..that maybe tequila doesn't have to taste like turpentine22.0 USD per Bottle -
Whiskey Del Bac Dorado Mesquite Smoked Single Malt
American Single Malt — Arizona, USA
Reviewed March 31, 2019 (edited May 8, 2019)Neat. Nose is mesquite, vanilla, butterscotch, and a little ethanol Taste is honey/barley sweet, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon, then a long mesquite/BBQ flavor with a saccharine campfire finish. I've never tasted anything like this before. It's absolutely delicious and brings back memories of camping and bonfires. Think of this as an American Islay. I think a Bourbon or Scotch fanatic could appreciate this45.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose is deep, spicy, woody, dark fruit, clove and pepper with mild ethanol. Taste is sweet, char, medicinal cherry, vanilla, pepper, clove, and a touch of mint. The high barley gives is a thicker mouthfeel and a rounder sweetness that is atypical for the style. There is a bit of an alcohol byte, which is expected for 100 proof. Finish is decently long, sweet, cherry, and balanced with wood tannins. If you're a fan of the bourbon version, OF Signature, then you will enjoy this. All the sweet cherry with a big boost in rye spice. Pretty intense for those new to bourbon and rye. I could see where someone would think cherry cough syrup. The interesting notes would make an excelelnt mixer. Also would be nice on ice. I've tasted worse for twice the price. Great value19.0 USD per Bottle

Neat, Midwinter's Night's Dram finished, Binny's release, barrel 7799, 100 proof Nose is sweet and clean, vanilla, oak, citrus, dark fruit, rye. Taste is honey sweet, vanilla, plum, cardamom, cinnamon, other rye spice with some oak tannins balancing it out what would normally be cloying. Finish is medium with a little saccharine, dark fruit, oak tannins, and a little cocoa powder. A nice sipper that's well balanced, especially considering a port barrel is involved. The port barrel enhances rather than dominates. Great example of a finished whiskey35.0 USD per Bottle

Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed March 17, 2019 (edited February 3, 2020)Neat. Aroma of light peat, honey, vanilla, oak. Thinnish mouthfeel with all the aroma notes..wildflower honey sweetness, a friendly wisp of iodine from the peat, oaky vanilla.. all in equal parts. There's also a very faint hint of coconut rum. Flavors fade fairly quickly with a little peat and tea-like tannin. Overall, very unique, approachable, and balanced. The peat is there but plays an equal role to the prettiness typical of Irish whiskies. I think it's a wonderful marriage of Irish and Islay. I would definitely like to see what a few more proof would bring to the table47.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose of honey, vanilla, pear, and light baking spices with a surprising subdued, clean alcohol. Taste is clean, sweet, vanilla, red licorice, touch of the baking spices, green rye grass, cocoa and oak. The finish is medium, starting with a nice tart/tang, with the spices, a touch of cocoa powder, and slightly drying wood. Overall, not at all what one would expect from a high proof, inexpensive whiskey. Smooth and 'pretty'. Notably absent are much of the barrel notes of toasted oak, smoke and char many bourbons have, which is typical of WT and can be found with Four Roses, Woodford/Old Forester Whiskey Row series, but with more $$$. A definite well-known sleeper bourbon with universal availability. Available at any bar and priced the same as many lesser bourbons, and hangs with the pricier ones. Quite possibly the best flagship whiskey around and really makes you second guess the premiums for other WT products, as this one is 90+% as good.17.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is pleasant. Candy, oak, vanilla, leather, and a touch of ethanol sharpness. Taste starts sugar cane sweet. Char, oak, tobacco, cardamom, slight red hot, cotton candy, mint play supporting roles. Finish is medium and is slightly tannic and dry, yet oily. Overall smooth for 100 proof Definite similarities to Buffalo Trace, as expected..Sweet and 'crisp' but with some added proof and complexity Absolutely solid. A must have for BT fans for special occasions or looking to step up, Definite try for lower rye fans and enthusiasts. I would purchase again if my bottle was empty and I happened to find it on store shelves45.0 USD per Bottle

Old Bardstown Estate Bourbon 101 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 3, 2019 (edited January 19, 2020)Tasting neat, freshly opened bottle Nose is unique. Ethanol and a metallic sharpness along with some oak and slight musty cardboard/leather. Palette is a round light brown sugar sweetness, with some barrel spice, leather, herbal/mint, saccharin, and vanilla The trademark Willet rye spice notes come out with some air time, but definitely more subdued than Rowan and Noah. Finish isn't too complex, with mostly oak tannins. Overall, I like it..it's a little more 'savory' than most. The complexity comes out with time. I feel like it's constantly changing as I'm drinking it. I'm curious how this will be as I empty the bottle. For $30, I think it's worth it. For $40, the jury's out..so I'm docking it a bit for value. It's more than McKenna BiB and over 2x WT 10140.0 USD per Bottle
