Neat. Aroma is birthday cake and a little ethanol. Taste is overwhelmingly sweet, with some bitter anise (licorice) notes. Finish is cloying sweetness. It 'tastes good' because it's not Curevo Gold and is sweet..but there is no complexity or artistry here. Buy only for the bottle or for a special gift for someone that thinks Cuervo is good tequila.80.0 USD per Bottle

Tasting neat. Nose is oaky, a bit of ethanol, and some red hot candy. Taste slightly corn sweet, and thin. Some honey, vanilla, oak, light fruit, and peanut...which all fade in the dry finish which is short, other than the red hots that is surprisingly long lived and builds over several sips. You need to cleanse the palette with a little water between sips just to be able to taste anything else I wouldn't have guessed this is a wheater in a blind taste...there's no body and round sweetness. I also don't think I've ever had such a hot cinnamon bomb. It's almost a novelty at this point..which is why I don't hate it...but it's not great bourbon..it's adult fireball30.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is caramel, apple, vanilla, cinnamon, a little ethanol, a little oak Taste is light brown sugar sweet, vanilla, cherry, pears, oak, tangy, a little smoke, bark cinnamon, some rye baking spices, black pepper, honey, and tea The finish has a drying tartness, with vanilla, oak, baking spice and pepper with vanilla and lots of saccharine holding out much longer than other notes Overall it's sweeter and smoother than the small batch..The rough edges seem sanded down a bit.. It is delicious, maybe a little more mature, but it loses that 'Barton Bite' ..for better or worse. A 50% premium over the small batch places it right in the middle of some tough competition40.0 USD per Bottle

Casa Noble Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 28, 2019Neat. I love the blanco, so not sure what is with these barrels. You get some short lived hints of some nice smoky oak, but otherwise it's dominated with saccharine and artificial vanilla. If you like diet vanilla coke, then this is your jam44.0 USD per Bottle -
Casa Noble Crystal Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 28, 2019 (edited February 25, 2022)Tasting neat. Honey, pepper, agave syrup, mint, citrus, bitter herbal (cilantro?), and a hint of cinnamon. There's a nice, interesting little ginger/black pepper bite, but still pretty smooth.. Overall sweet and spicy33.0 USD per Bottle -
Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 28, 2019 (edited July 9, 2020)Enjoying neat, freshly opened bottle. The nose is bright and crisp. Some citrus, mineral, touch of agave and pepper. Also, on a fresh bottle, a significant herbal note of bitter tarragon that could be a little polarizing (I personally enjoyed it), but it fades after some air time. The alcohol presents itself as more of a slight minty sensation rather than any type of burn. Tasting is remarkably smooth..as in no burn at all. Flavor wise, it starts with a mild agave and white sugar..a nice general fruity, floral, citrus, herbal (tarragon?) that's almost gin like without the juniper. The finish is sweet black pepper. There's an overall mineral quality, but not particularly salty, that really gives this a softness in mouthfeel and tames the bite Overall, soft, smooth, balanced, delicate flavors on the bright end.. I could put this bottle on some ice and sip by the pool all day. The flavors would get lost in a mixed drink, but it would be very smooth. Definite bonus for value, as I prefer this to several other blancos that cost at least double19.0 USD per Bottle -
Clase Azul Tequila Reposado
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 19, 2019 (edited November 24, 2021)Sipping neat. Nose is sweet. Lots of floral honey, caramel, vanilla, a little wood. No alcohol heat. Taste is true to nose plus a little black pepper. Mouthfeel is rich, and syrupy. The finish is long with sweet, saccharine vanilla caramel, black pepper, with an occasional hint of black pepper and oak tannins. It's obviously an additive bomb. Nothing I'd recommend to enthusiasts, but this is going to be heaven to those that think tequila means JC Especial. I'm calling this 80 proof Diet Cream Soda schnapps. The bottle is pretty cool, and that's obviously what you're paying for. As a gift or bar piece..why not, if the price isn't a concern. Call it a hand painted, artisanal Mexican bud vase and then the price doesn't seem so bad100.0 USD per Bottle -
Tasting neat. I know that seems crazy for a cheap bottle of vodka. The nose has a notable lack of ethanol sharpness with an earthy/salty note..like a mineral water. The palette is smooth and round. Rich, full, subtly sweet, slightly musty, with slight drying, bitter, tonic-like finish. I'm sure it's not the best vodka out there, but a potato vodka for this price that is very sippable and interesting to drink, gets a definite boost for value. If you like a gin and tonic, you'll be a fan...everyone else would be quite happy using this as a mixer13.0 USD per Bottle

Baker's Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 13, 2019 (edited February 3, 2020)Tasting neat. Beautiful deep color. Nose is ethanol, leather, oak, with some butterscotch and baking spices. Taste starts out sweet and rich. All the sugar flavors are deep and complex.. a mix of butterscotch, caramel, brown sugar with stone fruit, vanilla, hot cinnamon, and a little baking spice in the background. Think of a well done peach cobbler. Savory leather, oak, black pepper, toasted nuts, cocoa powder, and smoke are all players and stand equally with the sweet side. The finish is medium long and dry. Overall balanced and complex. There's a lot of flavors here and none of the notes overpower the others. Of all the members of the JB Small Batch family, this is the one you want to marry..The one you never get tired of talking to. Perfect sit down and sip a while bourbon.55.0 USD per Bottle
